Short evidence-based editorials: a) analysing two examples of short evidence-based editorials (Texts 9 and 10) - "Killings of Journalists Bring Gun Violence to Dark New Level" (The New York Times) and "The arriving miserables" (The Washington Post"); b) preparing to create your own editorial (Workbook, pp. 31-33). Continued explaantion of splintering effect of regionalisation of TV in the USa. Showing of article in The Daily Telegraph about abuse of power by a member of the British parliament (using letterheaded House of Commons notepaper to complain about a private matter). Showing of Gogglebox TV programme on UK Channel 4, where we watch people sitting in their own homes  being filmed watching TV shows we have already watched.
