(The Independent): opinion stated; reasons stated to support this opinion; facts that support this opinion; author's suggestions for dealing with the topic of the editorial;
(b) "Start with power and finish with purpose": looking at beginnings and endings of various editorials from British and American papers sent by email (strongly worded opinions and calls to action);
(c) Four main types of editorials: persuasive; analysis and explanatory; obituary; endorsement;
(d) Differences between an editorial and an opinion essay;
(e) Dos and don'ts of editorial writing;
(f) Choosing a topic for your editorial.
HOMEWORK: Create your own editorial on a topic chosen by you (detailed instructions for this assignment were sent by email). This assignment is due on 18th April 2022.
