Goodbye Persuasive Writing - Hello Narrative Writing

Students were placed into groups and finished analyzing Barack Obama's speech, identifying the persuasive techniques used and the diferent voters targetted in the separate sections.

Once this was completed, TP8 was introduced to the basics of narrative writing.  Students who missed this class should go through the narrative writing section of the course book.  Please remember the optional narrative writing homework assignment.  This is outlined in your course book and is due on the 31st of March.

Next class: we will read and analyze Alice Walker's The Flowers.

Today TP8 listened to Barack Obama's 2012 Nomination Acceptance Speech.  They: 1) identified what it was that he wanted (for everyone to vote for him); 2) identified the techniques used; and 3) identified all of the different kinds of voters targetted in the speech.
