Sts visited the National Archives of the Torre do Tombo in Lisbon, where they were guided by Cláudia Pires. During the visit, they learned how to access and consult archival records and had the opportunity to explore the temporary exhibitions.

Sts took part in a guided tour at the National Archives of the Torre do Tombo in Lisbon, led by Sofia Landeiro and Cláudia Pires. During the visit, they learnt about the history and role of the National Archives and were shown how to access and consult archival records. They even had the opportunity to examine historical documents firsthand.

Our guest speaker, Anne Etienne (University of Cork) spoke about theatre censorship in Great Britain, and gave an interactive seesion, presenting the case study of play The Shewing-Up of Blanco Posnet by George Bernard Shaw.

Defining Translation II

Sts were asked to work in groups. Sts gave their own individual definition on translation again via http://scrumblr.ca/ They then collaborated to create a more formal definition that incorporated each of their perspectives, presenting the consolidated version on Google Slides. These group definitions were subsequently presented and discussed in class.

Finally, the lecturer provided her own definition of translation, which will serve as the working definition for the course.
