Reading and discussion of "The Strap Box Flyer" by Paul Jennings: (a) pre-reading acttivity - framing a story based on a set of given words; (b) telling your story to the class; (c) dramatised reading of the first four parts of the short story "The Strap Box Flyer"; (d) guessing how the story ends; (e) listening to Part 5 of the story. HOMEWORK: (1) narrative verb forms, pp. 68-70; (2) individual assignment: creative writing (p. 32): Add another situation to the text - after Scott Bridges's episode - in which Giffen's glue victimises another character. Write approximately 200 words. Start with the words "Another person who bought a tube of Giffen's Great Glue was ... ".
