Presentation on Wiki Facts

21 Novembro 2018, 14:00 Rui Vitorino Azevedo

Five Wikipedia “Facts”
For this presentation I would like you to look up five interesting facts on Wikipedia – things that you think people do not know. Remember that whichever facts you choose to discuss they should be non-biased and present a balanced view of the topic, so a certain amount of detail should be given.  Of these five facts, however, one should be “false” and our aim in class will be to discover which one.
Here are some possible topics:
-          Your town or region
-          A favorite band, singer, composer or type of music
-          A famous person from an English-speaking country
You may choose other topics as well, as long as they are interesting!

Writing Workshop part 2

21 Novembro 2018, 10:00 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

Students spent the first 60 minutes writing a composition piece as though it were for their final exam.

The task was:
  • Write a 250-300 word composition based on ONE of the following topics:
    • Write about an experience that made you very happy.
    • What do you really want to change about your life? How could you do it?
    • If I were invisible, I would…
    • Write about a time when you found it difficult to forgive someone.
    • What are you afraid of?
    • What does getting old mean to you?
The rest of the class was spent with the teacher marking and carrying out mini-tutorials with students.
