Review of Miranda Fricker's article "Powerlessness and Social Interpretation" in light of her theories on the causes and effects of hermeneutical injustice. Practical example offered of how the arts can fill in the lacunae in the collective hermeneutical repertoire looking at George Cukor's film Gaslight and how this offered society an exemplification of psychological manipulation in relationships that led to this concept being referred to as gaslighting.
