We finished the last set of presentations - fear and sound, and American identity through music were the themes presented. 

Oxford Union Debate: is Islam a religion of peace?

Today we watched (and learned from) one of the Oxford Union Debates that was recorded and uploaded onto YouTube.

It is imperative that all students who missed the class watch the first three sections of the debate that we watched in class today, as this serves as a model for the debates that students will be carrying out for their oral exams.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen - Novel vs. Movie Analysis

Today, students brainstormed the key differences between the movie and the film.  There was then a class discussion (if we could call it that, about three students spoke!) as to why the changes were made (i.e. why and how a political satire was turned into a romantic comedy).

Students who missed today's class should definitely take a look at the Whiteboard that we made of today's class; this has already been uploaded onto the google share drive in the folder entitled 'SFITY Stuff'.
