Reading and discussing 'The power of the media an photojournalism' and 'The power of social media' (pages 32-33). Discussing quotes fro those two articles (page 34).

Reading and discussing guidelines about the debating sessions (parliamentary model)

Choosing groups for the first round of debates.
Voting for the motions to be debated. 
TP 1 voted for motion A (This House believes in the social media's role in today's world). 

TP3 voted for motion B (This House believes in unrestricted freedom of the press).

Presentation of essay writing referring to notes in the course book pp 36-39.
Practise of techniques with an essay on Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily" - manual pp 57-61 - "Discuss how "A Rose for Emily" reflects Southern society at the time"
Students have to read essay on p 40 for next class to discuss paragraph development
Also have to do exercise on sentence inversion on p.26

Memoir writing

1st person singular: 1st person point of view

the author is the main character
the author's feelings, reflections, emotions are revealed
flashbacks, past context (use of past tenses)
the reader feels invited into the plot
conclusion is deliberate and the memoir is about the significance of experience
literary form/not a report/invites fiction
