Close reading of Part 1 of the short story "A Rose for Emily" presented by Prof Pascale Antolin (visiting professor from Université Bordeaux Montaigne on Erasmus Staff Mobility in FLUL) 

Class led discussion on the rest of the story - looking  in particular at the themes of the Southern Gothic and the Southern Renaissence in this story in preparation for the discussion of Paul Theroux's book Deep South.
