The students finished presenting their Descriptive Writing Text Analyses.

We then went on to begin Persuasive Writing.

We then looked at 20 techniques (among others!) that can be used when writing or speaking to convince someone to do something:

.Cause and effect

.Verb tenses

.Repetition

.Alliteration

.The Power of Three

.Emotive language

.Facts and statistics

.Hyperbole

.Exaggeration

.Technical Language

.Rhetorical Questions

.Dare the reader to disagree

.Powerful verbs and strong adjectives

.Listing.

.Address objections.

.Go tribal.

.Story telling/anecdotes

.Humour.

.Reasons why.

We then watched/read extracts from Wînston Churchill's We Shall Fight them on the Beaches
