Students repeated the speaking exercise (as we ran out of time and there was no opportunity for students to feed back to the class).

  • B1.1 Speaking: Describing yourself

    • Get in pairs and ask each other the following questions:

      1. What’s your name?

      2. Tell me about your family and/or your pets?

      3. What do you do?

      4. What three things do you like most?

      5. What three things do you dislike most?

      6. If you could do anything – or be anywhere – what/where would it be?

      7. Any other questions…

We then did the following Reading and Listening exercises:

  • B1 Reading: Education (to do at home if you missed class)

  • B1.1 Listening:  Education (to do at home if you missed class)

We will continue with B1.1 Speaking: the Education System next class.

HOMEWORK: for those who wish to do the homework exercise, this is due tomorrow and must be emailed to me as a WORD document.  Work sent up to 2-3 days late will be accepted but no later than that.  Homework is optional and does NOT count toward your final grade but you will receive a grade and detailed feedback and tutorials are available for those who want them.  Please note that no more than 3 tutorials per student will be provided.

  • Assignment:
    • Tell me what school was like for you when you were younger.  You can choose to focus on either your primary or your secondary school.  Alternatively, you can write about how your current university experience is going.  The assignment should be 150-200 words long.  Please write your name and class number (TP2) at the beginning of your assignment.

Prepositions - Part 2

2 Outubro 2017, 12:00 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

Students completed learning about IN/ON/AT as location prepositions and we went on to learn about IN/ON/AT as time, position and direction prepositions.

Students should do the respective grammar homework from the grammar books and do the online exercises time/location/direction/positions exercises (easier and harder):

All students have been emailed the prepositions PowerPoint and should consult this in future for the mid-term test.
