Today we had our second Oxford Union-style debate entitled 'There is still an American Dream' with Beatriz Barata and Sara Meta on the 'For' team, and Pedro Lopes and Tiago Amador on the 'Against' team.
The winners of today's debate was once again the 'For' Team: Beatriz Barata and Sara Meta. Congratulations, ladies!
Next class; we will analyze the differences between the movie version and the novel version of
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen - Character Anlysis

Today we carried out character analyses of the different characters from the novel Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.
We looked at Alfred Jones, Mary Jones, Harriet Chetwode-Talbot, Peter Maxwell, and Sheik Muhammad ibn Zaidi bani Tihama.
The analyses the group came up with was
really good, and a copy of the slide that we made will be emailed to everyone so that people can print it out and bring it with them to the open-book test at the end of term.
