Third person short stories - True Trash by Margaret Atwood

6 Fevereiro 2023, 15:30 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

Today we read True Trash by Margaret Atwood.

It was a long text, so we did not finish reading this text.  For those of you who came to class, please finish reading at home.  Those who did not come to today's class must read this at home.  It is available on the shared Google Drive.

Homework: finish reading the story.

Questions for you:
  • What are the links between the 'trashy' story that the girls are reading and their own story?  What common themes do they share?  How are the plots similar?
  • What are the many layers of meaning to be found in th title?
  • What are the less obvious themes to be found in this story?  I.e. It's about more than sex and gender - what is it really about?
