Introduction to the Second Person Narrative

After reading a lovely introduction on the second person narrative on Book Riot (12 of the Best Books Written in the Second Person | Book Riot), we went on to read our first second person short story, The Kid's Guide to Divorce by Lorrie Moore.
- how the second voice affects the reader in this particular text;
- how does it differ in tone from the more common, more predictible second voice texts;
- notice how the author alternates between the imperative (when talking to 'you') and future tenses when talking about/describing everything around them;
- notice how we don't know the names of any of the characters or even the gender of the main character.
- What does this all mean?
