Cultural issues in Translation

Looked at strategies for dealing with cultural issues in translation such as: exoticism, cultural borrowing, calque, communicative translation, deletion and cultural transplantation.

Students were then put into groups to analyze a text about restaurant reviews and discussed strategies to obtain equivalence/naturalize the text into a Portuguese cultural setting.
