Cohesive Writing - Model Editorial - Leave Game of Thrones Alone

Today, TP7 learned about cohesive writing by reading the final product, my editorial entitled: Leave Game of Thrones Alone.  All TP7 students should have gone through the model editorial and watched the tutorial video of the same name (Model Editorial - Game of Thrones) - all of which are available on the shared Google drive in the folder entitled 'Homework'.  Students who missed today's class should make sure that they have caught up with this.


Next class: After the Easter Break, we will finally begin preparing for our oral exams, the Oxford Union-style debates.  The next two classes will be very important for those needing to understand what is expected of them for their oral exams which are worth 30% of their grade.

The first thing TP7 did was review the PowerPoint entitled 'How to Write an Editorial'.  All TP7 students should have gone through the PowerPoint and watched the video of the same name - all of which are available on the shared Google drive in the folder entitled 'Homework'.  Students who missed today's class should make sure that they have caught up with this.


We then learned about cohesive writing by reading Text 14: Sorry, Lily Collins, but when people outsource childbirth, their motives really count by Martha Gill.  Students who missed today's class should learn about how to integrate cohesion (the 3rd C) into their writing by watching the Model Editorial video, also available in the shared Google drive in the Homework folder.

Next class: we will continue to learn about the 3rd C: Cohesion - how to write cohesively.
