Warm-up: some common errors

Presentation on anthropomorphism and its detractors. Pair work analysis of the differences between paired characters: Peter Rabbit/the velveteen rabbit; Paddington/Pooh; Wilbur/Piglet. Identification of the problems and desires of each of the characters.

Presentation on wolves in children’s literature, with a focus on the Native American story The Two Wolves as illustrated by Zen Pencils.

Pair work exercise on animal idioms and expressions.

HOMEWORK: Read “Pathology in the Hundred Acre Wood”, an academic article about Winnie the Pooh and friends. Make a word-family table of nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs from the nouns describing The Two Wolves.
