TP2 did the following reading exercise: B1 Reading: Accommodation.  If you missed class, please click on the link below and answer the questions.

TP2 then went on do another speaking exercise: B1.1 Speaking: Your Worst House-share/Flat-share experience

They got into groups of three and shared with the group their worst house-share/flat-share experiences.  If they'd never shared a house with anyone, they had to describe the challenging aspects of sharing a home with their family/partner.

TP2 then went on to do their in-class writing exercise: B1.1 In-class Writing: Your Best House-share/Flat-share experience

Their instructions were to write a short piece (half a page of A4 or a full page of A5) describing the best house-share/flat-share experience of their lives.  If they'd never shared a house or flat with anyone, they were told to describe the best memories they had of sharing a home with their family or partner.

Presentations: Wikipedia Facts

Students gave presentations on "Wikipedia Facts" where one fact had to be false and we needed to discover which one.
Grammar review: the present simple and present continues reviewed in terms of form and usage. 


Listening, Reading, Speaking...

TP2 started off the class with their first listening exercise.  Anyone who missed the class is STRONGLY advised to do the listening exercise at home as we have a listening test coming up in a few weeks.  Just click here and do it:

Following this, they carried out their first speaking exercise:  B1.1 Speaking: Describing yourself 
Students got into pairs or groups of threes and asked basic questions to each other including: age, course of study, place of origin, likes/dislikes, hobbies, etc.

They then did another Reading exercise:  B1 Reading: Education.  Students who missed class should carry out the exercise by accessing it here:
They then did another listening exercise, and, again, students who did not attend class really should carry out the exercise at home.  Just click here and do it:  

Students then did another speaking exercise where they got into groups of three and talked a bit about what they though is right and/or wrong with the primary and/or secondary school education in the country they are from.  Mostly, they just talked about their personal experiences at school.


Optional Homework

B1.1 Writing: Your Education

Tell me what school was like for you when you were younger.  You can choose to focus on either your primary or your secondary school.  Alternatively, you can write about how your current university experience is going.  The assignment should be 150-200 words long.  Please write your name and class number (TP2) at the beginning of your assignment.


It is due on the 11th October 2019 and must be emailed to me.
