8 Novembro 2019, 12:00 Zsófia Gombár

Sts had to revise irregular verbs for today’s class at home.

1) Warm-up: Grammar. Memory game (4 groups) Who can memorise more irregular verbs (3 forms: present, past, past participle)? Sts had 3 minute to consult the irregular verb list, and then had to jot down as many as they could. Before the winning team read the verbs out loud, the adversary team corrected the list.

2) Grammar/ Writing: Irregular Verbs: pair work activity, exercises on irregular verbs.

3) Speaking/ Grammar: pair work activity: Must say “Yes, I have”

In this game the St being asked the Yes/No question such as “Have you ever been higher than 5000 metres” must answer “Yes”, even if that is not true. The other Sts ask them three follow up questions (e.g. “How did it feel?” and “How did you get there?”) and then try to guess whether the original answer was true or not.

Next class, we will read the second half of the text and hopefully get TP2 into groups to carry out the close-reading analysis of their section of the piece.
