Class 13

Students began their third unit of study today: an examination of literary devices in classic and contemporary English language literature.  Students were introduced to the seven elements of a narrative and their ability to identify these elements in written works will be a major component of their unit 3 take home test.  Students then learned about the history and characteric writing of Edgar A. Poe and read his short story, "The Tell-Tale Heart." Students ordered the events of the story chronologically and watched a brief movie about the piece before answering reflection questions on the piece.
