Students were given their take home test to complete and Unit 4 "Perceptions of the U.S. and U.S. Culture" was introduced. Students asked their perceptions on the U.S. and were provided various information on the country from pop culture to population demographics. Students then further studied U.S. culture through examination of a satirical work of Kurt Vonnegut, chapter 1 of Breakfast of Champions, and examination of satirical news articles (criticizing U.S. policies) from the satirical paper The Onion.Secrets and Lies

Students were put into groups of 6 and worked together to play a literary device review game similar to Jeopardy! (focusing on the learnings of unit 3) to better prepare them for their take home test.
