Class 2:

Students were introduced to the semester long blog project.  We held an informal debate on hazing and discussed "praxe" on campus. Discussion of how to summarize a reading. Examination of future goals and identity through reading and discussing two articles; How to Ruin Your Life… and Dear Graduates. Students completed a language questionnaire as their first blog assignment.

Letter to the lecturer

Students write a letter to the lecturer about what sort of student they hope to be this semester. (individual work)
Students write the outline for a story starting with "Imagine a morning in late November." reporting to the class the proposed setting, character(s), and plot. (pair work)
Homework assignment: write the story and bring it to class on Monday. (individual work)
