Students continued to examine themes behind Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" a learned the cultural importance and historical context of the song. Students then read articles based on housing options on U.S. college campuses and their differences.  Particular focus was given to an article on "Greek Life" in the U.S. and the Greek system's problems with hazing. We then further discussed the practice of hazing in the U.S. and Praxe here. Students were introduced to their assessment #2, writing an informative essay on a topic in youth culture.

Class 8

Students read articles on the U.S. education system and aspects of being a college student in the U.S. The class was divided into two groups and each answered reflection questions on their assigned article to the class. Throughout the presentation students compared and contrasted college life in the U.S. and Portugal. Students listened to the song "Like a Rolling Stone"by Bob Dylan and were asked to reflect on its meaning for the next class.
