17 Maio 2017, 16:00 Cecília Maria Beecher Martins

Presentation of Structure of Narrative Texts

1) Orientation: Sets the scene: where and when the story happened and introduces the participants of the story: who and what is involved in the story.

2) Event: This will lead to the construction of a plot

3) Resolution: The problem (the crisis) is resolved, either in a happy ending or in a sad (tragic) ending

A narrative text is an account of an experience.

Through a narrative the individual can express and share something special with the reader.

This can be:

•a journey, •a special day such as the first day in school or a realization of  truth – the Maya Angelou text on understanding death

The reader to comprehend:

The narrative text should present at least one of the following:  a point of view,  •attitudes, • perspectives  •and construction of reality of the narrator.
The reader can thus become a part of the experience and understand the personality of the narrator.

It should be presented as•a sequence of events that are related in chronological order. •can be presented in the first person narration that uses words such as I, myself, me, etc. •Or in the third person
It will always have various characters and a specific plot surrounding that story will be built.
