Speaking exercises and CPE grammar

Students had prepared texts to present in class - they presented these and answered colleagues and teachers questions on the subjects presented.

Corrected word formation CPE exercises and did preposition exercises in the manual.

Students selected the texts they will present from those in the manual for their first evaluated oral exercise.

We started off by reading the students' translations of the poem Palavras onde me perco. We read from the Phenomenology of Inclusion, Belonging and Language (Kirova). We spoke about the concepts: the house of being (Heidegger); the structure of human experience (Van Manen); home; belonging; objects

We read and discussed The New Wave of Luso Canadians (2017) by E. Melo

We discussed the theory of diaspora and the generational gap that defines it.

We moved on to speaking about Saturday mornings: description/mind travel.
