Persuasive Writing continued....

2 Abril 2020, 12:00 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

Today we listened to Barack Obama's (totally awesome) 2012 NDC speech.  Students who missed this lesson will be sent a Zoom video recording.  It should be noted, however, that there is no point in listening once the class is separated into groups as we cannot record what goes on in each group.

Next class: students will feed back to the class their analysis of their section of Obama's speech.  We will then start our unit on Expository Writing.

Persuasive Writing

31 Março 2020, 16:00 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

Today, on Zoom, TP9 listened to Winston Churchill's famous speech We Shall Fight on the Beaches and identified the following:

  1. What it was that he was trying to get his listeners to do;
  2.  Which persuasive techniques he used in order to get them to do it.
Students who missed class should listen to the video of the lesson which has been emailed to all students.
Next class: we will be listening to and analyzing one of Barack Obama's NDC speeches.
