Jhumpa Lahiri's 'Sexy'

Today, TP9 identified some of the themes present in Jhumpa Lahiri's title story 'Sexy'.  They were then given 20 minutes to come with thesis statements/essay questions regarding the story.

Note: anyone who missed today's class can consult the PowerPoint available on the shared Google drive entitled 'Interpreter of Maladies Themes'.  Here you can see the themes that we have come up for each story so far.

Next class: we'll be looking at Ms. Lahiri's 'Mrs. Sen's' - all students must have read this short story by next class!

In groups of 3, students collaborated to plan an essay comparing two things of their choice.

Homework: Write – individually – the comparative essay planned in your small group. Read the remaining 2 PG Wodehouse stories.
