Modelling Literary Essay Writing - Third, One Must Write

25 Fevereiro 2025, 12:30 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

Today, TP9 went through Hilda Eusébio's Joyce Carol Oates’s ‘Small Avalanches’:How a Bad Girl Plays It Safe. We learned about how to create academic fluency between paragraphs and how to organize a bibliography.  Anyone who missed today's class should go through the document entitled 'model essay' which is in the folder 'How to Write an Essay' in the folder 'Essay STuff' on the shared Google drive.  (FYI, I also included a folder entitled 'How to Write an Essay 2' which is about the Wonder Woman movie that came out.  Just in case you feel like looking at another PowerPoint and reading another essay.)

Homework: finish reading the first short story ('A Temporary Matter') from Jhumpa Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies.  It is essential you all finish reading for the next class.

Next class: analyzing Jhumpa Lahiri's 'A Temporary Matter' - practicing coming up with thesis statements.
