Today, TP9 identified some of the themes present in Jhumpa Lahiri's title story 'A Real Durwan'.  They were then given 20 minutes to come with thesis statements/essay questions regarding the story.

THE COMPARATIVE ESSAY

Presentation on the structure of a comparative essay, including a model introductory paragraph, and on how to plan a comparative essay.

In groups of 3, students collaborated to plan an essay comparing two things of their choice.

Homework: Write – individually – the comparative essay planned in your small group. Read the remaining 2 PG Wodehouse stories.
