Presentation on John Cleese, Fawlty Towers as a classic sitcom, its inspiration, and its use of farce, satire and black comedy.

Small group task: drawing up character descriptions of Basil, Sybil, Polly and Manuel.

Exploration of Scott Sedita’s concept of the 8 sitcom characters.

Homework: Watch the pilot episode of Friends and any other episodes.
