Jhumpa Lahiri's 'A Temporary Matter'

28 Fevereiro 2025, 12:30 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

As only six students finished reading the short story, TP9 began reading 'A Temporary Matter' from Jhumpa Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies.  Eventually, the bulk of the class was excused and the six students who did do the homework were invited to come up with thesis statements for the short story.  Anyone who really likes their thesis statements from these class sessions can use it for their optional homework assignment - once I've signed off on it, of course.

Homework: read Jhumpa Lahiri's second short story 'When Mr. Pirzada Came to Dine'.

Next class: we will analyze the second short story and attempt and practice coming up with thesis statements.
