Lost in Translation: Group Presentations

Today, we had the first set of presentations on
the theme “Lost in Translation.” The presentations focused on two main topics:
mistranslations of film titles, with ten examples analyzed, and the use of swearing,
profanity, and vulgarity in film, focusing on Ted. This was followed by

discussion of students’ proposed alternate translations.

Reviewed Practicals 11 and 12

In today’s class, we reviewed the translation of Practical 12, focusing on ensuring that the letter was correctly localized and maintained a formal tone. We then revisited Practical 11 to address challenges students encountered, including navigating culturally sensitive topics and understanding specialized terminology.
