We looked at adjective order (attributive vs. predicative position) with nouns as well as its position with certain verbs. We discussed how the position may sometimes alter the meaning. Then we looked at the order of more than one adjective before a noun, including subjective comments. Students did a couple of practical exercises.
We also looked at word order for emphasis with the use of adverbs or adverbial phrases. This included a revision of cleft sentences and fronting. Students also practiced with a couple of exercises.
Finally, we reviewed some verbs, phrasal verbs and idioms related to eating and drinking.Grammar and vocabulary review
