Today, TP10 had its first end-of-semester Oxford Union-style debate with the motion: AI art is damaging to art itself.


This was an absolutely fascinating debate - thank you to Yifei Chen, Beatriz Tampinho, Eduardo Ansiães, Samira Luca, Teodora Crisan, Vasco Monteiro and to all of those who participated, especially to those friends who are not even enrolled in this class and came just to watch and contribute to the voting.  We appreciate your enthusiasm!

Next class: we will be having our second debate with the motion:  Technology is advancing too fast.

The Noun Phrase

We went over the noun phrase, including the head noun, determiners, premodifiers and postmodifiers. We then looked at adjectives (attrivutive vs. predicative) along with comparative forms. Students did some practical exercises and were then assigned several homework exercises for extra pracitice.

We did several practical exercises that reviewed the use of noun phrases, determiners, and advances structures for comparing and contrasting.
