Reading and discussion of two short stories "What we talk about when we talk about Anne Frank" and "What we talk about when we talk about love". Looked at some of the main themes in these stories and also made some comparisons between the two.
Goodbye Descriptive Writing...Hello Persuasive Writing!

The remaining groups presented their analyses of their descriptive writing texts.
Students then went on to learn about the basics of persuasive writing - about what it's used for and when. The 'how' consisted of the 20 persuasive writing techniques which we looked at in class.
Students then went on to listen to Winston Churchill's We Will Fight on the Beaches and got into groups to analyze the text and identify the techniques within it.
