I introduced the students to the structure of literary texts and illustrated how narrative and descriptive texts work together to produce a literary narrative text.
We then did free writing exercises and descriptive writing exercises to help students identify how each of these are produced separately but that they are then joined together by the author to produce an delicately articulated text.
After students performed the individual exercises they then began to write a literary text - they developed the scenario, setting and characters of their texts from the articulation of different elements of the exercises previously performed.
