Diagnostic test

30 Janeiro 2020, 10:00 Daniel Gregg Lopes da Silva

Students did a diagnostic test in class.

language review and round table discussion

29 Janeiro 2020, 16:00 Cecília Maria Beecher Martins

This class was divided into 2 parts.

In the first part we worked on language structures (sentence inversion) and CAE Use of English exercises (manual pp 18-21 & 28,29).
Students informed me of their choice of novel.
In preparation for the kind of work I want students to do to prepare for their oral presentation we also did a round table discussion on violence.
The question they had to answer was "When you hear the word "violence", what do you think of?
As students had different interpretations of what violence means - we realised that even when you use the same word people may have different interpretations of this - so to really defend a topic one must define it. Step one in their oral presentation - define clearly giving examples what they are actually going to discuss.
