Students received their corrected tests and reviewed them in one-on-one discussions to address any doubts or questions.
They then began working on Practical 11, which involves translating a tenancy at will. The focus was on conveying legal concepts clearly and accurately, ensuring the translation is accessible to both legal professionals and lay readers.

Practical 10

We reviewed students’ translations of a script excerpt from the video game Until Dawn, focusing on producing an idiomatic Portuguese version that conveys the original meaning while sounding natural and fluent. Students were reminded that the translation should be suited for silent reading—similar to film subtitles—and should prioritise clarity, conciseness, and readability. Scene descriptions were also to be translated using specific cinematic lexis.

As part of the task, students were asked to reflect on their translation choices, particularly in relation to idioms, slang, and cultural references, and to consider how well they preserved tone, character voice, and emotional nuance. A brief commentary on the strategies used and any challenges encountered was also required.
