METAPHOR IN SONGS

Feedback on Writing 1 evaluation.

Small group work: analysing the lyrics of the song “Weeping” and discussing their possible meaning.

Presentation contextualising the song in Apartheid South Africa, followed by further work in small groups to establish new meanings in context.

Listening to the song performed by Josh Groban and Vusi Mahlasela, and watching the video.

4^th hour/tutorial work: grammar practice.

Homework: read “Rules of the game” for Tuesday and “The Suit” for Friday.

SS 6 - The Judge's Will

Students discusses the short story “The Judge’s Will”. We focused mostly on the different relationships in the story along with the female condition as it is discussed in the story. We also focused on students’ interpretation of the conclusion along with an analysis of the characters’ personalities. As an optional writing assignment, students were asked to come up with the Judge’s last will and testament.
