Reading and discussion of the short story “The Identity Club”. We focused on some of the major themes in the story such as the concept of cults and our search for identity. This also included a discussion of famous dead artists that the students emulate, the idea of “directed incarnation” and some of the other major themes in the story such as loneliness. As an optional writing assignment students were asked to continue the story and answer this question: Does he escape?
